Once an amplifier's tubes are using all of the power that is available to them they start to 'clip' or overdrive. This is what causes distortion.

While Tube amplifier distortion is often a pleasing sound, sometimes it is not wanted. Amplifiers are often judged by their clean sound. 

You can make a clean amp sound 'dirty', but you can't make a 'dirty' amp sound clean.

The CRYSTAL is built to the same high standards that you have come to expect from Vintone Circuits .

The transformers used here are of the highest quality obtainable. Hand wound on paper bobbins. The output transformer is a seven layer interleave. Built the way 'they used to make them'!

Topology
The CRYSTAL line was inspired by the DR50/4 of the mid '70s with some major changes.
The first gain stage is a 12AT7 triode, known for high headroom and clear note definition.

The power supply is severely overbuilt and totally "Bulletproof" with many additional filtering stages and hand wound, custom built transformers wound directly on a paper bobbin.

The CRYSTAL has a single tone control that is completely by-passable. When turned off it is completely removed from the circuit. A Line out jack is provided for direct connection to another amplifier,  recording-mixing console or monitor headphone.
